This organization is a non-political, non-governmental, non-profit seeking registered social welfare society formed by a group of persons of the society. We want to develop sports, culture, health, education, economic and social development in our locality
This organization has its history of old-time. In long years ago Mr. Ratikanta Khan and Mr. Sannasi Mondal inspired the boys to acquire the free land which is partially vested and partially private property. The boys with brave started to play on that ground. They were Mr. Bhabasindhu Shee, Mr. Haradhan Mondal, Mr. Shyamal Khan, Mr. Madan Khan, Mr. Gour Guchhait, Mr. Sailen Mondal, etc. A few times later boys set up a clubhouse with mud, bamboos, and tiles at that land near the Former Maheshwara Priyanath Junior High School (Now Maheshwara Priyanath High School). They named it ‘Naba Jagrata Sangha’. Mr. Rishikesh Mondal, Mr. Bikas Mondal, Mr. Prakash Mondal, Mr. Pradip Guchhait, etc took the prominent role to set up the organization. They took the only program to worship ‘Shyama Kali Puja’ and spend their time to seat the clubhouse. After the next generation, Mr. Pijush Kanti Joti made an organization named ‘Bijay Ketan’ for the purpose of Sports and Culture Development in 2000 A.D. Using this club name, village boys participated in the Cricket Tournaments outside. A few months later senior men especially Mr. Rishikesh Mondal, Mr. Bikash Kumar Mondal, Mr. Prakash Ch. Mondal, Mr. Pradip Guchhait, etc. advised that it is not to need two clubs in one village. They proposed that boys could use the old clubhouse. At last, all senior men and junior boys agreed that it would be one club which name would be ‘Nabaketan’. First ‘Naba’ had been taken from the first part of ‘Naba Jagrata’ and second ‘Ketan’ had been taken from the last part of ‘Bijay Ketan’. "Naba" means "New" and "Ketan" means "Flag". That means "New Flag". Thus two clubs merged with each other. Simultaneously the decision was to be made that this new club would not organize any religious program, would not support any political movement, and would not interfere with any personal matter. Then the old clubhouse was renovated with bricks with tiles and it was done colored. In 2001 the club was been registered under The Registration of the Society, West Bengal Act XXVI of 1961 with the name of `Maheshwara Nabaketan` on 7/5/2001. After that, the name of the club had been changed to `Maheshwara Nabaketan Gramin Vikash Kendra` on 12/12/2002. In 2020 The club was constructed with a new concrete building by the contribution of the club members. Mr. Pintu Shee, Mr. Manas Mondal, Mr. Manas Khan, Mr. Pradip Guchhait, etc. took the prime role to erect and shed the building. Thus Our Club starts its journey to bring a new era for the new generation.
